There were two big events on last Sunday: one is Fukuoka Day at the Town Hall in the city, which is to celebrate the friendly relationship between Fukuoka in Japan and Auckland; the other is Chinese Moon Festival to celebrate the autumn full-moon (in the Chinese calendar) in Henderson. Both events gathered lots of visitors.
There were lots of visitors who likes Japan and the Japanese culture so at Japan Homes booth many people asked us about Japanese architecture and Tatami mats, and also some asked if we came from Japan on a business trip. We felt like around 60% of the visitors were Chinese.
Only a person completed our questionnaire sheet for free consulting, however, many people took our company pamphlets so we had some enquiries after.
It was the first time for Japan Homes to enter a Chinese event.
Although it was raining many people visited out booth and completed the questionnaire sheets. Half of these were about building new homes and were from Northshore. Somehow, we attract more Northshore people than the other areas.
The two of them had building consent already for their new homes and wanted to begin construction ASAP.
We met many potential clients.
The difference we felt between these events was that in Moon Festival people directly asked us the most important thing to know. Some quickly asked how much is the new home build cost / m2 for the first time we spoked to them. I thought that this quickness and direct communication was the key to the overseas Chinese’s successful business.
We have ad on the Chinese radio and WTV and joined Japan Day before so more and more people get to know us. We try to increase our presence more in Auckland to provide more people with our Comfortable and Affordable homes.

After graduation, I worked at a major Dental material company as a top salesman. In 2002 I firstly set my foot on land in New Zealand, and have started to engage in NZ Construction firm since 2004. From the 8 years' experiences at construction sites and sales experiences in Japan, I devote myself to satisfy customers from consultation to construction and after care services.
Within the first 4 years after the foundation, half of Japan Homes' customers were similar ages of mine. So that their life environment such as a number of children were also similar to mine therefore I was able to understand the customers' situations and wants more. Meanwhile there are also many customers of my father's generation, which is always appreciated because I can learn lots of good things from them.
We try our best to provide services that you satisfy, such as schedule, quality and after care service.
