(日本語訳下にあります) South Auckland Home Show This happened at Vodafone Event Centre in Manukau as a home show and we had our own booth then. Although our booth looked simple many people visited us. I felt that there were a lot of visitors who were thinking to build their own home and looking for trusted builders. We had a total of 7 new enquiries from visitors. Many of these are about building a new home. Within a couple of days after the event ended,  we already had a meeting with most of these clients, and we proposed our new […]

  • 5 MUDA

      2018/06/24    What I feel 自分が感じたこと

Hi all, One of our work principal is putting the “5 MUDA” within our work. We have laminated notices which we put at all of our sites for subcontractors to see and also as a reminder of ourselves The 5 MUDA, also know as 5 types of wastes on site, are: 1. WAITING (Delays) Waiting on materials, delayed order, wait for another subcontractor 2. DEFECTS (rework) Cause from rush work or not fully skilled, or misunderstanding. Rework wastes a lot of money and also trust from clients. 3. MOTION (people and equipment) excess people movement- often over a long distance, includes looking for materials and tools 4. MOVEMENT Movements between processes include picking up tools too many times from the car 5. 2nd DISASTER Damage […]

  • Site Management 101

      2018/05/15    What I feel 自分が感じたこと

Hi, Today I want to talk about site management 101. Case 1: a right of way which we have to clear the driveway at 4pm. The Tennant’s on the back section goes to work really early in the morning and finishes around 4pm, we have to clear/make ways in order for the Tennant’s to go home while we are still working. Case 2: using of others driveway for parking and access to the back yard. In this case we tried to communicate with the neighbour so that we can use their driveway in certain times of a day for delivery or to make more carpark for our sub contractors. Case 3: fence is leaning on our site and it’s not on a straight line. Therefore […]

  • Recess Shelf

      2018/05/06    What I feel 自分が感じたこと

Hi guys, This week during my personal interest I have been looking at different bathroom storage solutions, one of them which really catch my eyes are recess shelf inside shower box. From back in the days we have seen many different ways and products which people use to store personal cleaning products inside the shower area. The most common ones are corner shelves, hanging baskets and recess shelves that come with the plastic shower box liner. Nowadays as more people are into full tiled bathroom / tiled shower area as it is more modern and stylish. People tend not to use the traditional shelves as much and we Japan Homes also can do tiled shower recess shelves for our clients. Each shelf can be used […]

      2018/04/06    What I feel 自分が感じたこと

Hello everyone, Today I want to talk about one of the initial concepts within our company. “Do basic” It sounds simple, but it’s really not easy to continue doing it. So what does do basic means? To us Japan Homes, whatever position we are on, we need to have improvements or new things to learn each day in order to ac complish our comfortable and affordable mission statement. Normally people will say a good foundation is the most important step to building a house. But for us, we know every step is equally important. Therefore we treat each step and or subcontractors equally. We make sure they are educated in Japan Homes way of thinking and improve together. And therefore we review and open to […]
